Society will be indebted to you Prof. Sananda, time will weigh our sins.

Amidst Rafael cry, not very long ago, there was another cause for which India and France came together in the discourse. The Prime Minister and French President Emmanuel Macron were conferred with 'Champions of the Earth', United Nation's highest environmental honour. The award was given for their works in the area of promotion of solar energy. But when it is about being best in the world, jacks can't qualify, you need to be master of your trade. But this is not actually the case. In the country of 'Champion' a person died working for the environment, but no one was to listen to him. What are our new normals? Do deaths of people, do deaths of stalwarts affect us at all?

At times, it seems like international organisations, their functioning and their affairs are just larger manifestations of powerful governments of the world and in the past few years, India has gone a steps ahead to get into the front runners of the arena. With a Prime Minister who is frequently accused of manipulating his actions in the international circles because of his 'Nobel' aspiration, India has utterly failed or has atleast seen great setbacks in the matters of domestic importance. The champion of earth has ironically failed to improve the environmental condition in his own land and to the worse of it, situations have further severed.

The deminse of Prof. G.D. Aggarwal(who was a sanyasi and popularly known as Swami Sanand) has left the nation in utter shock and sadness. A society who is the culprit of Prof. Sanand is mourning on his death. Yes, I'll prefer calling him Prof. Sanand as a Sanyasi holds no relevance in the outlook of our self-proclaimed modern society. I, in my personal capacity as a citizen of this nation and a member of this society accept my failure to acknowledge the sacrifices and contribution of the Swami. It was only in the morning that day that I received his health report and before I could spare time from my self centric schedule to read it, he had left us. He had left to his lakshya leaving us busy in our worthless daily responisbilities.

Prof. Sananda was a great warrior of Sanatana, a man who subscribed to the preaching of Manu Smriti which reads, 'janmana jayte shudra, karmna dvijah uchyate'(जन्मना जायते शुद्र, कर्मणा द्विजः उच्यते). A man, who was actually living his culture in an age when no one really cares of them. A person, who had attained the highest 'Anandmaya-Kosha'(आनंदमय कोष) of 'Panchkoshiya Sharir'(पंचकोषिय शरीर). A person who was at the level of self actualization, the apex of Maslow's triangle.

But unfortunately he was in a kingdom of blinds selling mirrors. He lived the ashrama vyavastha, the three noble purushartha in pursuit of the the fourth, his lakshya, Moksha, which every individual strives for. I'll pray to my god to grace him with his 'Purushartha' depite the fact that he could not achieve his dream to see a 'Cleen Ganga', because I know that even if he would come back, he would be disappointed. We are a society which hardly takes its lessons. I'm sure that we won't change even if a Prof. Sanand does it tens of times.

He was like elucidating scriptures to a deaf king. He adopted the method of Satyagraha during the times of a government which doesn't subscribe to petty things like peaceful protests or things like resignation over failures, charges of corruption etc. But now when the real 'Champion of the earth' is gone, we need to think. Because we know our government would not. Ironically, the other 'Champion' has larger obligations to stand for!

It was not that our government didn't do anything to prevent this. Ministers like Mr. Gadkari and the Chief Minister of the state went to him. But did they really do anything to ensure that this didn't happen. Prof. had gone to fast during congress regime twice too. But now? Where is our former Water Resources and Ganga Conservation Minister who had sweared that she would take a Jala-Samadhi if she fails in her duty?  Sadly, Ganga is in a pathetic state. Hopes are meagre that we would take steps. Then can we atleast ensure that those of us who really care and are concerned of our real issues can be consoled of some fake promise, of some Jumla or the other! Particularly in the times of a nationalist government, when expecting something on their part is like committing a heinous social crime!

Alvida Swami Sananda!
