To Whom It May Concern.
Every parent has a dream of making their child a good human being, by saying good human I dont mean its literal meaning only.. A good human here means the one who has enormous wealth, prosperity and happiness and above all a quality education..
Even the poorest and most helpless person wants his child to study and lead stable life..
The destiny of the foetus is pre-decided.. Indian middle class has very limited but perfect(according to them) knowledge of our education system.. They know the fittest profession for the foetus.. Even many of the bollywood films show beta hua to engineer or beti hui to doctor.. :p
Among all this the child appers in the scene.. I remember my case.. I dont remember my childhood much !! But what I remember that I was 5-6 years old and that was the age when I decided to become civil servant.. Taking higher education was my passion.. I was fortunate that I was born in a family which is not like typical Indian joint families.. I was fotunate that my locality had a cheap and small institute like DAV Narhan.. I was fortunate that I got a good team of teachers and and friends.. Together we all clicked an had superb 9 years ! Result was exactly as expected and I was admitted to DAV BSEB, one of the best schools in the state.. I was very much confused before admission and with me society and system was equally responsible for this.. Well that is not the thing to be discussed here.. Anyhow the school tolerated me, I tolerated them and again we got the result as expected ! But was it my misfortune ? The real problem started then..
According to a survey the number of universities in India is less than half as required !! The same study said that only 11 out of hundred students reach to college after passing higher secondary.. Who is responsible for that ? Why seats go vacant even 89% of students can fill them ? Are those 11% students best ?? Ask yourself.. According to me, you are the only one responsible.. I will not give facts.. I will not discuss too much.. I am writing every word after a minute of thinking.. I am really worried.. None of our universities are among top 200 universities in world.. !! Not even IIT's and AIIMS !! Why every educationist turns politician after becoming VC ? Why he forgets his childhood ? I have a free advice to you.. Let politicians do what they are doing.. You should focus on working for nation and humanity ! And humanity will pay you for your noble deed.. Well leave, Let me focus over my two questions.. Why only 11% students reach to college and are those 11% best ? State universities are acting like private agencies.. They are open regular(Did it sound contradictory ?) universities.. Central univesity have very intransparent admission procedure.. Let us understand it by an example.. There are a large number of Higher secondary boards in India.. Every board has different marking pattern.. Making them a single board can be a solution.. But you can do nothing for that ? But is there no solution for that ? DU, one of the best Indian undergraduate university takes students on the basis of board marks(many other university also do).. For them 84% of CBSE board is equal to 84% in UP board.. Although the numbers seem similar but they are completely different.. An average student can get 84% in CBSE but UP board gets its topper with this percentage.. Doesnt the topper of UP board deserves a seat in DU ? Mr. VC, it will be better if you consider reforms in your admission procedure among your priorities rather than thinking on useless issues like converting 3 years UG course into 4..
Again let me take my example, I knew that I will not get good result.. I knew that I will not get good college on the basis of board marks.. I appeared for only one undergraduate entrance.. BHU UET.. I am in general category.. Well reservation is not an issue to be discussed here.. I got into merit list.. I am suitable for admission in one of the best universities(BHU).. But why I am not suitable for others ? What my 73% board marks mean ? Do they mean I am good for nothing ? Do they mean I lack skills or I have no skill ? Is this my misfortune ?
No, its your misfortune.. You are deprived of best students.. Better you should focus on making yourself and your institution better.. You should try to become transparent.. Education should be priority and education to the fittest should be the priority ! You can think for joint university entrance for every subject at national level until the thinking of single board becomes reality.. Institutions like UGC, NAAC should be made powerful..
Hope you will notice and act.. You will think of dreams of those parents and students.. Humanity will be obliged to you..
